This year has been a roller coaster for energy. The biggest part has been of course the economy. As the economy fluctuates, it puts a strain on businesses, green and all. The big three have floundered. We will see if they will be able to deliver the efficient and electric cars of the future in 2009.
The renewable energy credits have expired. Whether or not they will be finally be renewed will be seen. We believe that they will. Next year should be a pretty good year for tax credits and incentives on renewable energy.
Solar has been growing leaps and bounds. Nano technology continues to make solar even greater. The upcoming year, look forward to a lot more "fun in the sun". Alongside of solar, the other big winner in 2008 was wind. The Pickens plan has proposed to spend millions of dollar to help grow the wind market.
Looking ahead to 2009, this year should be kind of shaky. Most of this year will see most of the days spent trying to recover the greater economy. However, look for the companies that do survive, to be growing bigger and a lot Greener. The green boom has just begun and 2009 will be the start of a very different green business base.
