All You Ever Wanted to Know About Clean Energy Technology

With recent innovations many are wondering exactly what is clean energy and the technology that is used with this kind of energy. Clean energy often refers to the use of renewable resources to produce energy that is needed to power things. This includes electricity, heat, light, water, and portable power. The reason it is termed clean is because it emits fewer harmful toxins in the environment. As the innovations continue to develop, so will the uses of clean energy technology. Batteries, smart meters, and robotics are a few examples of clean energy technology. The demand for smart and green technology will continue to increase over time.

First clean energy technology starts with renewable resources. Renewable resources are natural energy used and converted into practical power. Examples are solar power and wind power. Both of these are widely used today to produce power that consumers use. The benefits of these resources are the low emissions and lower costs. Nonrenewable resources like oil and coal leave huge carbon emissions as a byproduct. These emissions are extremely harmful to the planet. The natural energy of renewable resources does not have the harsh byproducts. Also since the renewable resources are more cost efficient the actual costs to both the utility companies and the consumers is lower. Everyone likes saving money.

Smart meters and other robotics are examples of clean energy technology. Smart meters are used to determine how much energy is actually being used. This helps lower costs because consumers are not being charged for wasted energy and plants only need to produce the amounts of energy that are required. Hybrid and electric vehicles are another set of examples of clean energy technology. These cars use alternative sources for power and reduce the harmful exhaust emissions. Robots have evolved and now play a huge role in clean energy technology. The machines used in plants are digital robotics and help reduce air pollutants.

Portable power sources like lithium batteries are another way people use clean energy technology. The rechargeable batteries have long calendar lives and help the environment. Because they are rechargeable fewer alkaline batteries are used. This keeps the old used batteries from ending up in landfills reducing the toxins from them leaking into the ground. As technology advances the available sources for operating devices will increase.

Clean energy technology also includes ways to store and convert energy. Hoover dam is an early example of clean energy technology. The dam converts water energy into electricity. Windmills and water wheels are examples of devices that help convert natural energy into practical use. Recent inventions now store the natural converted energy and can be used when needed. The use of rain water, or gray water, as an irrigation system during dry spells also has recently been developed in clean energy technology.

Simply, clean energy technology is any innovation that helps reduce the dependency on nonrenewable resources and reduce the harmful pollutants of these sources. Smart meters and batteries are just the tip of the iceberg. As technology advances over time so will the clean energy products and systems.
