The Citizen 8700 is a good watch for people who want a stylish watch. It runs on solar energy, and will always run. If you want the advantage of not having to throw out an old battery than this could be a watch to look into.

There are some setbacks to the watch. At over 300 dollars, it could be expensive depending on your needs. If you are looking for a plain simple watch; than the Citizen is not for you. For the Eco conscious business man, it might work.

There are some competitors. Bulova, Caravelle, Seiko, Wittnauer, Pulsar, TFX, and Casio all make similar type watches.

Solar watches are great things for people to have. To be able to not have any type of harmful battery for the environment is a plus. If you don't mind the price tag of the Citizen, then this could be the watch for you.
