Steven Chu will very soon be confirmed as the United States Energy Secretary.
Dr. Chu has an extremely long and very impressive resume. He has an Ivy League education. His work is long and extensive as an Experimental Physicist. During his work he received a Nobel Prize for Physics.
Chu's focus during his research has been on cellulosic ethanol, global warming and alternative energy (including nuclear). His goal has been to push for clean energy and ease American off fossil fuel. This fits along with his advocacy to educate the public on global warming. Fossil fuels are the major contributors to global warming.
His appointment as energy secretary sets a great precedent in the clean energy field. Clean alternative fuel is vital. Chu will continue in his new job to be a great advocate for renewable energy. Dr. Steven Chu will help wean the United States off of Fossil Fuels because of his education, background and intuition.
