A variety of Green Energy resources are available. Understanding each source is detrimental to society preserving the planet. Many people are not aware of the various options and the importance of reducing global warming before it is to late. As the population grows the higher the demand for electricity becomes. Solar, ocean, wind, hydropower, biomass and geothermal are the main renewable power options.
Solar energy is one of the oldest solutions in containing and producing power. The sun is used to harness the energy. Buildings are built in such a manner to optimize the suns rays. A huge amount of small solar panels are required to create a substantial amount of renewable energy. It covers a big spectrum for example hot water, light production in the day, heating and cooling internal spaces and is even used for industrial reasons.
Wind power is growing at a fast pace. Turbines are placed over an extended area where there is wind available. Strong consistent winds can be found in high altitude areas as well as offshore. Wind farms are installed to generate a higher output of power.
Hydropower energy is harnessed by the usage of water. Big volumes of energy can be created because the density of water is very high. Hydroelectric energy is used for larger projects and Micro Hydro systems are for projects were a production of 100kw of energy is required. Mainly used by countries that contains plentiful water areas.
Biofuel or bioethanol is produced by fermented sugar or from the starch of crops. Brazil and the United States use it to improve vehicle emissions and octane levels. Biodiesel is however made from vegetable fats and reduces carbon dioxides and is readily available in Europe.
Geothermal energy is probably the most interesting energy source because the heat from the earth's core is generated into a power. A very expensive project to undertake however in the long run the costs is low when operating. Condensed steam from underwater streams and hot rocks are merely a small fraction of the technology they use to revive power from the heating core of the earth. Almost more than 70 countries use geothermal energy in some or other form.
All the above green energy solutions can be detrimental to the survival of the human race. Global warming is increasing at a rapid speed and a reduction of fossil fuel, coal and other minerals are becoming more apparent. Time is running out for the salvation of civilization. It is up to the world to make a difference. Renewable power gives a diverse and consistency that other options are not able to provide. Governmental institutions are starting to invest in alternative solutions and they are setting detailed policies in place to aid the industry.
