Ecofan

The Ecofan is a powerful and soundless fan (up to 150 CFM) which stands on the top of your wood stove for proper distribution of warm air throughout the house without the use of electricity.

This free-standing, environmentally friendly, heat-powered Ecofan is well designed to improve a wood stove's efficiency by distributing warm air evenly, produced by the stove. Ecofan generates its own electricity when it is placed on top of a heated surface. Operation temperature ranges from 150 degrees to 700 degrees. The Ecofan does not use any external electrical connections or batteries. This fan has a thermoelectric module that acts as a minor generator to power up the fan's motor. With this small generator, the module experiences heat differential between its bottom and top surfaces, which creates electricity. The top module is kept cool by the fan's top cooling fins, and its bottom surface is heated by the wood stove. On an average, the fan speed varies with the temperature of the stove top. It works well to circulate warm air.

There is no hook-up required as it is non-electric. It just permanently sits on a free-standing cook-stove's top. When the stove is lit up and fire gets heated, within a few minutes the blades start turning and as the stove temperature increases, the speed gets higher.

These fans are well designed to operate maintenance-free. A detergent-free cloth can be used to clean down the extrusions. There is no need to move the Ecofan from its place in any season; you just need to place it on the top of the wood stove all year round. Ecofan should be placed on a smooth, flat surface on the stove top, near to the side or back of the stove from where cool air can be drawn from over and behind the cooling fan.
