Mileage Calculator- Plx Kiwi Driving Monitor

The Kiwi Driving Monitor is a unique tool aimed at helping you to accomplish two this specifically. The device is able to help you to cut down on your gas usage. Secondly, it helps you to reduce your carbon footprint. For those who want to be green while driving, but also want to save money, this tool can help you to accomplish that easily. It takes only a few seconds to plug it in and it works with all vehicles manufactured after 1996.

This tool is mounted anywhere in your car you determine is best for you. Once there, it calculates how well you are doing driving in terms of a Kiwi Score. You want a score as high as possible. The score is calculated based on the way you drive and is made up of four specific determinations: Smooth, Drag, Acceleration, and Deceleration. As you drive, you'll want to see the green bar next to each of these names increase as that means you are saving money and reducing carbon footprint. It can be quite fun to get your numbers as high as possible.

The function of the Kiwi Driving Monitor is ideal. The system works well at teaching you how to drive, not just telling you what you are doing right or wrong. One of the nice features about the device is that you can work through several challenges along the way. These challenges are designed to teach you how well you are driving, or how poorly. By teaching you these things, in this interactive format, it is likely you will carry them over into your daily driving, therefore helping you to reduce that carbon footprint. The device claims to help you to increase your miles per gallon by 20 percent within a few days (if the device is used regularly) and up to 33 percent if most of your driving is done on the freeway.

One of the nice features about the Kiwi is its Trip Summary report, which is generated once you have driven the vehicle to your destination and turned off the vehicle. The Kiwi device then displays a Trip Summary that actually gives you very real, helpful information including how much you used and saved money wise during the trip due to your improved driving habits. It also provides you with your miles per gallon for the trip and the distance you have traveled. It also tells you how much gas it cost you to get here.

There are a few downsides to the Kiwi Driving Monitor, though they are minor. For one, it is easy to see that unless you use the device often and regularly, you won't see the improvement in gas mileage. It may not hold the attention of some users over time, either. This could mean that the investment in the device is not realized. The key is to use it regularly and to allow it to teach you better driving habits. If you are unwilling to change those habits, you may find yourself quite limited.

Perhaps another downside is the cost, with a manufacturer's suggested retail value of $299. Yet, if you use the device often enough, you will find that this cost is able to be recouped over a short period of time.

The Kiwi Driving Monitor is a good investment for those who want to be conscious about the investment they make in gas on a regular basis. Those concerned with their carbon imprint will find the device helpful, easily usable and a reliable indication of the good they are doing by monitoring driving. Of course, the only way to see benefits in this device is to use it regularly and be willing to change your driving habits to match the device's indications.
