Mission One Superbike

With concern for the environment becoming a global trend among car and bike manufacturers, and consumers worrying that the green vehicles won't have the power of their gasoline powered cousins, many of the manufacturers are out to prove that a green vehicles can have the power of a gasoline powered vehicle.

This fact has been clearly demonstrated with the advent of the Mission One Superbike. The bike was a dream of Forrest North. He joined Tesla motors with hopes of making an electric performance vehicle, later teamed up with Edward West. Together they developed the Superbike in hopes of creating a green machine that also delivered on performance.

The Mission One Superbike is a wonderful machine. It runs on a high energy lithium-ion battery which has a built in integrated thermal management system. Its motor is liquid cooled with a 3 phase AC induction support. It delivers a torque 100 lbs per feet at the range of 0 to 6500 RPM. Its top speed is 150 miles per hour.

The bike runs at a top speed of 150 miles per hour, and it can drive 150 miles on a single full battery charge. Since the battery is the latest in technology, it is guaranteed to perform well for many miles. The full charging process also is really fast, at just under 2 hours with a 240 volt connection and takes 8 hours with a 120 volt connection, the total recharge of the bike will only cost a mere $1.96 . The bike has a custom built chassis which has suspension at the level of racing bikes. The bike has six gears and 100 pounds of torque.

The Mission One Superbike also can capture the kinetic energy released during braking and convert electrical energy which in turn gets stored in the batteries. This ensures even greater energy efficiency. The bike also has a state of the art data acquisition system which enables riders to collect data in real time, such as speed, location or lean angle. Data about the bike like battery voltage, motor current or efficiency can be checked real time, and later added to a computer for analysis, comparison or just showing off.

The bike releases in 2010, and reservations are going on currently for the first 50 units. The deposit able amount is $5000 and the total cost is $68,995.
