For many years rivers and oceans are used to create electricity. Countries are seeking alternative solutions to a worldwide problem. Due to global warming and lack of other resources hydro energy is becoming more in demand. Water is used; therefore, coastal areas can easily implement hydropower. Initial expenditure is high; however, in the long run it functions on renewable low cost capacity. Energy can be saved to use at a later stage and when required it can be supplied at a constant rate.

Hydroelectricity is sourced from the kinetic energy that derives from the flow of the water. It is reliable and is available immediately. There is no pollution involved in the process; however it can affect the echo system in the surrounding negatively. When hydro green energy is used there is no negative impact on the surrounding areas. They can use the dams to breed fish or help farms with their irrigation without them resorting to heavy seasonal rainfall. Plants are able to survive longer. Floods can be prevented by controlling the flow of the rivers. Recreation facilities can be created to optimize the usage of the reservoirs.

Hydroelectricity is not powered by any fuel; therefore, ensuring a decline in the growth of the ozone layer. Many people wonder how the energy is created from the sea; however, it is self explanatory. Almost 65% of the earth is covered by water. The tides determine the flow of the water. Turbines are placed in the sea or riverbed where high movements of currents take place and in return hydrokinetic power is generated.

There are various scales in production from large hydroelectric dams to Micro hydropower systems. The smaller scale can produce up to plus minus 100 kilo watts of power. Employing a large amount of staff to run the plant is not required. Even the life expectancy of a hydro powered plant is longer than a nuclear plant. An individual can also run a small plant at home all they require is a stream or river close by and guidance to build a functional miniature plantation.

Green hydropower evolved throughout the centuries and is one of the oldest alternative methods of renewable energy. The amazing apart is that the ocean is able provide electricity to the entire population. Mother earth is becoming more and more vulnerable and it is now up to society to save her. Using hydro energy is merely a small contribution to a bigger picture. Without electricity future generations can take a leap back into time. By implementing hydro energy an intervention can take place before it is too late. Remember the outcome of an energized environment is determined by the actions taken today.
