The Sun Centric Centrifugal Pumps can work on solar energy and can pump 50,000 gallons, i.e. around 200 cubic meter of water per day from shallow water sources. In that sense, it is very effective in pumping out water from the place where water level is low. The pump has a wide variety of applications including irrigation, livestock, domestic water, pond management, water treatment, swimming pools, solar water heating, hydraulic space heating, and fire protection and in many more places.
These pumps started becoming popular in 1989. The biggest advantage of this product is that they can be operated without electricity or batteries. The solar centrifugal pumps take energy directly from the sun and operate. They also do not need any electronic pump controller. But if there is a demand for constant pressure, the pump will operate best with a battery source. The batteries are chargeable in any power source.
Though the suction limit of the pump is 10 vertical feet, it is better to place the pump low and keep it close to the water levels that will minimize the suction process. The chance of cavitations gets minimized and this increases the life of the pump, as excess cavitations increase the wear and tear of the pump. You will get much better performance if you can keep the pump protected from rain and direct sunlight.
You must have good knowledge of the wire and pipe requirements to maintain a smooth operation of Sun Centric Centrifugal Pumps. First of all, try to keep the intake pipe as direct and short as possible.
But the optimum size should be maintained, as two much of a short pipe may reduce the performance of the pump.
These Sun Centric Centrifugal Pumps are easy to maintain as regular maintenance is not required. Even if any problem arises, the pump can be easily repaired in the field using simple tools and engineering skills.
If the impeller of the pump is of glass filled polycarbonate, then the pump can withstand a temperature of up to 140 degrees Fahrenheit. But there is also a model where the impeller is made of brass and which can withstand a temperature of up to 212 degrees Fahrenheit.
Different models of the pump are found in different series. They are 7200 series, 7300 series, 7400 series, 7500 and 7600 series. The prices vary between $700-750 per piece.
