SunFrost Refrigerator

Are you sick of the expensive electric bills every month? What if you could cut it down by 80%? If you purchase a SunFrost Refrigerator, you might be able to do that. The fridge uses about one fifth of the electricity of a normal one. It is an Energy Star product, so you already know that it uses less energy. It uses 15 KWH per month. A full 19 foot unit costs around $3400.

There are some definite advantages to purchasing a super efficient fridge. During the summer that amount of heater usually given off by the appliances in the kitchen are great, but because there is very little heat given off from the SunFrost, you won't have to pay extra air conditioning to cool down. The average fridge uses roughly 90 KWH a month, this one only 15. There is no fan, so it usually is very quiet. If you have ever had to defrost a fridge you know how annoying it can be. This unit makes things easy, the sheets of ice usually come out after 20 minutes and very little mopping is involved.

There are some disadvantages to the unit. Mainly the price, it is about twice as much as a similar standing unit. Even though you will save energy and money every month from using it, you will probably not end up breaking even on the whole thing. This unit is not made for everyone.

Amana, Sanyo, Haier, Maytag, and Whirlpool all make competing products.

If you are in the market and can afford a high end super efficient fridge, than go for it. While it is around 3400 dollars the energy saving is big. It is a big quiet machine with no fan. It is easy to defrost. While not for everyone, it could be good for the consumer who wants it.
