The Sun is One of the Largest Energy Resources

The sun is one of the largest energy resources. The rays are generated into a powered format; therefore, creating solar energy. It is available to all walks of life and is becoming more and more cost effective. Depending on the method used to capture the suns rays will determine if the power is active or passive. Passive energy is when architectural features of a building are designed in such a manner that it optimizes the material to function as an energy source. A classic example of this is when architects design an area for natural air flow as well natural light to enhance a specific space or area. Active power is when solar panels are installed to capture the energy and convert it to electricity.

People all over the world use it mainly to heat water and 3rd world countries use it to uplift the rural areas. It is seen as inexpensive, reliable and functional. An average of 350 megawatt can be generated from a large solar station. Spain is becoming the leading country when it comes to providing this type of renewable energy. Late 2010 they projected the completion of 22 projects which will give an output of almost 1, 035 megawatts of power.

Large mirrors that concentrate a beam onto a central receiver create the main feature of the solar panels. The energy can be stored due to lack of sun at night. Towers are built by many countries because it offers a better storage option. In the 1950's solar power was mainly used for the functioning of satellites in outer space; however, it is now a power phenomenon that is many countries install as a back-up when there is an electricity shortage.

There are many benefits because it is a natural, safe and effective method. Toxic carbons are reduced, it aids the planet from distinction, and it is inexpensive when up and running. The panels do not require a lot of maintenance. It does not pollute the air. The power runs without any sound and in return a peaceful noise free atmosphere is created.

Renewable solar energy can be used for cars, heating, appliances, light etc. If you install solar energy as an individual to your house the utility companies provide an option on buying back the extra power being generated. Remember that there are various sizes available and the output of energy can differ. As you require more electricity you add on extra panels. Technology is improving on a daily basis and before you know it you will be able to fly planes with it. Stop the progress of global warming and start investing in solar power.
