It is available at the moment in Norway but will spread to other parts of the world. It costs around $30,000.
There are some interesting features that go along with the City. First off, unlike some electric cars the facility that is used to make it is carbon neutral. More than that, the car is 95% recyclable and made from recycled materials. This car is actually available right now depending on where you live and won't break you bank account. The very neat thing is that the car can go up to 100 kmh or 62 mph for those in the U.S.
There are some drawbacks to the Think. While it is electric and can travel at a normal highway speed it will still need to be charged at night. It will be good for commuters who don't travel very far. The larger issue is the delivery date. While it will be coming to the major European markets in 2009, by 2010 there is supposed to be a flood of electric cars on the market. It will be interesting to see the advancements that Think has thought of by then.
Miles, Tesla, Zap, Aptera and a few others make competing electric cars.
If you live in London, Paris, Milan, Amsterdam or Switzerland than you will not have to wait past 2009 to get you hands on the City. It will Cost you about 20,000 Euro. The company has covered almost every aspect of the environment with this car. It has all the modern safety elements and some new ones as well. The GPS and GPRS will allow you to have how the car is doing emailed to you computer or sent to your phone. If you are looking for a completely environmental electric car for commuting, than the Think may be a care for you to look into.
