Toshiba TV- 22LV505 HDTV - TV/DVD Combo

Everybody wants to do their bit for the environment these days and purchasing energy efficient products for the home is just one thing that we can all do. It is entirely possible to purchase good, reliable products that are also good for the environment and the Toshiba 22LV505 television is a classic example.

With a 22-inch diagonal widescreen and a combined DVD player, this television is one of the best energy efficient the televisions around today.

One of the major advantages to this television is that it has a combined DVD player too. So you are getting more for your money and it saves space in your home too. You don't have to worry about setting up two separate devices; it is all there in one place and it requires limited set up. In fact, the setup for the television also sets up the DVD player so it is an all in one setup that anybody can easily oversee.

The picture quality is also fantastic. It is an the HDTV, which basically means it supports high definition. High definition is one of the leading types of technology that most new televisions are being installed with. It allows you to see a television program or a film with the absolute best picture quality. Its resolution is 1680x1050 and it has a 5ms response time which helps to deliver precise quality. Overall, the picture quality is extremely good and it is definitely one of the best the TV/DVD combos around for its picture quality as well as its energy efficiency.

When turned on the the Toshiba 22LV505 will use 49 Watts. Compared to standard televisions this is extremely good. Most televisions will use anything from 60-250 watts. Obviously, it will depend upon the size of the screen and other factors as to how much energy a television will take up. However, even if you get the lowest energy standard television, you will still be using more watts than you would if you were to purchase the the Toshiba 22LV505.

If you are one of those people who like to keep their television on standby, then this model will also help you to save energy. The average television uses 5watts when it is on standby. The the Toshiba uses just 0.5watts. So already, there is a big difference between the amounts of power used. Obviously, it would be better if you turned the television off completely, but if you have to leave it on standby then an energy efficient television like this one is better to use. It is estimated that the TV will use an average of 93kw per year. Of course, it will depend on how often you use it but these are just estimated figures.

One of the great things about the the Toshiba 22LV505 television is that it has very few disadvantages. In fact, the only one it really has is that not all DVD's will be compatible with the DVD player.

It mainly depends upon the disc design and the laser pick up. You may find that a few DVD-RW, DVD-R, and CD-R discs do not work. It may also not recognize some MP3 or Jpeg images. So if you plan to use MP3 discs or recorded discs in the player you might find a few problems. Apart from that though, the television has no real disadvantages.

The the Toshiba 22LV505 television is definitely one of the best energy efficient televisions around. It saves space, energy, and money in the long run too.
