Trellis Biodegradable Plate

Corn is not just for eating anymore. As science advances so does plastic plates. Plastic is a bi-product of oil. Plastic does not biodegrade, but Bioplastic does. What is bioplastic? Bioplastics are Plastics that are made from biomass. For example, Trellis Earth makes biodegradable plastic wear. They make their products from corn polymers, starches. A 1600 pack of 7" plates retails on the site for roughly 130 dollars.

There are advantages to using biodegradable wear. First of all you are not shoving things into landfills. In some ways you are helping the biomass industry. The more demand there are for products, the more suppliers will switch to these kinds of earth friendly items. While it may seem a steep price for plates, overall it is not generally more expensive than normal plastic or Styrofoam plates.

Bioplastics are making a huge splash on the market. We are not sure how they will hold up when compared to regular brand plastic plates. The market for brands in this arena is exploding. The pushes away from toxic and harmful plastic plates are well on their way. Trellis Earth is just one company that produce biomass plastic wear. They are prices fairly competitively.
