With more and more companies taking the green turn and making environmentally friendly vehicles, many companies are being formed that specialize in making green vehicles. Vectrix is one such company, it was founded in 1996 with a goal of providing reliable, clean, efficient and yet affordable inner city transportation.

They focused on making a vehicle which would be 100% electricity dependent, thus cutting off emissions completely. They also wanted a bike that would not be weighed down by performance issues and satisfy performance oriented consumers. Environmentally aware people took notice of the bike when it was launched in Europe and the US in 2007.

The result of their efforts was the Vectrix VX 1, which is a completely zero emissions vehicle, which means no oil or gas. The bike has a top speed of 62 MPH and goes from 0 - 50 MPH in 6.8 seconds flat, which means it is totally built for the road. The bike has an aerodynamic design with smooth lines and sleek curves.

The bike has 3.7 kilowatt/hour of performance with its state of the art, Nickel Metal Hydride cells, which allows for a commute range of 35 - 55 miles. The 26.2 horse power engine sits inside a brilliantly engineered highly durable chassis made of aircraft aluminum space frame which makes the VX 1 as steady and comfortable at 62 miles per hour as it is at 16.

The Vectrix VX 1 also sports the world's first Go Stop Reverse throttle technology, which allows the VX 1 to be operated in almost all driving situations with just one simple and intuitive control mechanism. The bike also rides high in the comfort factor, the seat is plush and comfortable while riding, and designed to make tall riders as comfortable as short ones when the bike stops. There is also a nice storage space located just underneath the seat which can hold a full face helmet, so riders can just get on and drive. The bike comes with its own recharge cable and charges to 80% in a mere two and a half hours and has a long lifetime of 1700 discharge cycles.

The bike has a lifetime of 50,000 miles which translates to 10 years for the average person. Along with a 24 month warranty, this is one clean bike that will leave you without worry for a long time to come.
