People have always been fascinated with energy. Since the early days of wind power, we have always wanted to master energy. In the 21st century, we are faced with the task of trying to create a world where this fascination is harnessed. This has resulted in a push for clean energy.
Why is clean energy important?
Clean energy creation is one of the most pressing issues of today. Renewable energy has become so important because the world has become so reliant on non-renewable energy. For example, in the Midwestern portion of the United States, Ohio and Indiana get 80 to 90% of their electricity from coal. This means that if coal ever becomes scarce, or the price should suddenly rise, these states could face financial ruin.
Clean energy is the solution because of the need for a diverse implementation of our energy sources. These sources can range from solar, wind, and wave to geothermal. There are so many potential scientific breakthroughs that have yet to come, that we must remain focused on the creation of clean energy.
These energy sources are also important due to the nature of how they will affect the United States economy. The research, development and implementation of these clean sources will help the U.S. create the jobs of the future. This would put the U.S. clearly in the driver's seat of the energy revolution.
Clean energy is important in ensuring that the United States can rely solely on itself for the creation of energy. Self reliance in energy creation means that the country does not rely on others. As the President has made very clear, energy independence goes hand in hand with security.
Harnessing the world's resources is the essence of the green industry, and energy creation is no different. Renewable energy is the issue that joins people from all parties to find a real solution. American reliance on foreign energy is bad for the economy and security. Working together on clean energy is something that everyone can, and should, care about.
