This Is Green has been developed by Jan Manon and Thomas Bache-Wiig. Jan is a writer and designer with a BA in Ecology who resides in Burlington, VT and has her own company Elf Productions www.elfproductions.com. Thomas Bache-Wiig is a green architect who resides in Miami, FL. Both Jan and Thomas have worked on environmental content together for the last 2 years. Building the This Is Green iPhone app was a labor of love. Both Jan and Thomas wanted to make green choices easy to understand and implement for every consumer.

With a detailed floor plan of a house, This Is Green provides an interactive map to zoom in and around appliances and different parts of the home. When you tap on an item, you can learn quick facts to make eco-friendly choices.

You can also search by category to learn about specific steps to take (such as Save Water or Material Selection). For example, you can learn how to conserve energy and save on your utility bill. In addition, the app contains hazard lists of important ingredients to avoid in consumer products because of their deleterious effects on the human body and the environment.
